The first Harley® motorcycle to be sold by Dudley
Perkins arrives in San Francisco at 1626 Market.

Dudley Sr.'s years as a champion hillclimber. Ten years
successive champion for West Coast.
1930
The Great Depression move to 137 Hayes. Sold only 15 motorcycles
that year.
1938
Dudley Jr., second generation, age 14, becomes the shop
"gofer."
1945
WWII ends. Dudley Sr. buys surplus Army 45s in Texas and
has a record year for sales.
1964
50th Anniversary of Dudley Perkins Company.
1968
Dudley Perkins Jr. takes over day-to-day operations of dealership.
1970
The AMA Dudley Perkins Award is initiated for any individual
making an outstanding contribution to the sport of motorcycling.
1973
Dudley Jr. helps form California Motorcycle Dealers Association.
1976
Dudley Perkins Sr., born 1893, passes away at age 83.
1989
Tom Perkins designs motorcycles for sale through the Sharper
Image catalog.
1995
Dud Perkins Sr. inaugurated into the Sturgis Hall of Fame.
1997
Dudley Perkins Jr., born 1923, passes away at age 73.
1998
Nicole Perkins, Chris' sister, works the summer at the wharf
store, managed by Tom's wife, Janet. It's a family affair!
